CLASSIFICATION

CLASSIFICATION

With the fast development of today’s society, the amount of waste is increasing every year. Sorting and recycling is essential to reducing waste sources. Most of the waste can be sorted at home.

The sort of waste at source gets an important role in waste management, contributing to minimizing the risk of spreading pathogens, toxic and dangerous factors, and contributing to environmental protection. Correct classification also contributes to saving resources, reducing costs for waste collection and treatment. Domestic waste every day, before being put for treatment, needs to be sorted right at the household. The sort method is as follows:

  • +/ Persistent organic waste: includes waste that easily rot in natural conditions produces a bad odor. For example: leftovers, spoiled foods (vegetables, dead fish…), fruit peels,….
  • +/ Waste that is difficult to decompose is divided into 2 categories: recyclable and non-recyclable. Recyclable garbage is waste that can be reused many times or recycled such as: paper, carton and metal (iron frame, broken ship engine,…), plastics…. The remaining non-recyclable waste is discarded waste.

Waste collection method

– Collecting easy-to-biodegradable organic waste: Collect separately into waste containers to make use of it as compost (at home or to the factory for concentrated processing and processing into compost).

– Collecting difficult to decompose waste:

  • Recycling: Recycling is separated and stored in plastic bags or cloth bags for resale to recyclersRac - Copy.jpg (32 KB)
  • Non-recyclable garbage collection: Non-recyclable waste components will be collected, stored in household waste containers and brought to a dedicated parking gathering point for transportation to be processed at the centralized waste treatment area according to regulations.

Waste containers are specialized trash cans or take advantage of available household items such as baskets, sacks, and plastic bags.,….

The classification of waste is both bringing environmental protection benefits, saving natural resources, and above all, reducing the source of waste into the environment. If families are always conscious of sorting waste, it will bring great benefits to the community, contributing to protecting a greener and cleaner environment.

Currently, Vina-CUES is implementing projects to develop the field of recycling recyclable waste and converting to reuse organic waste, so sorting waste at source is one of the important steps, to be able to identify the amount of waste as well as carry out recycling easier and more support for the project.
